@mrsschutte1323, lol I think the farther along you are the more the cats react which is probably why you didnt notice, it probably wasnt as obvious lol. don't feel dumb :)

@missyowl92, this is true. And I know my baby kitty is very smart. I just feel dumb because I didn't really notice anything until almost 8 months into my pregnancy lol

It's just weird lol I didn't really think about the fact that he may know what's really going on. I mean I knew once baby is here and stuff my cat would know what was going on but i didn't think about him knowing why there's small clothes and car seat and bassinet and blankets that he can't lay on and stuff...

@mrsschutte1323, I think he may be excited to meet the baby? The way my black cat looks at my son's things and then looks at me is like he's saying "when is brother going to be here? or where is he?" lol I think it's adorable.

@missyowl92, my cat loves to be in the baby's room. Like every time that door is open he's in there and doesn't wanna come out..... That's so weird.

I have 3 cats and they all react a bit different. At first my tabby wouldn't leave my side but since about the 6 month mark she's been really anxious when she's around me. My black cat wanted nothing to do with it for a little while but now he's constantly laying his head on my belly and he comes in my room sometimes and looks at all the baby stuff like he's waiting for the baby to arrive. Lastly my calico honestly could care less... she lays with me at night but that's it lol. The rest of the day she doesn't care.

It's because you're pregnant same thing happened to me at the kitty shelter I volunteer at. One of our socially troubled cats started rubbing himself on my legs when I'd enter his room. He wasn't very affectionate until I became pregnant.

Yea my cat and my roommates cat (both males) follow me everywhere and my cat is like always by me but only in the last week.. I'm 30 weeks pregnant though and it just started like 5 days ago that's why I'm asking about it

My male cat is very protective of me now and my female cat is much more distant. All dogs seem to be protective of me as well. My friend's bearded dragon gets aggressive when I'm in the same room as him. All animals seem to know and react a bit differently.

my dogs always stay closer now, like if i go in the bathroom or my room and shut the door they sit outside and wait on me, like they are my guards lol

Like he's always slept next to me at night but usually if I'm on the couch or something he blows me off in terms of cuddling and sleeps some where else but for the last week it's like he's a kitten. He all but insists on sleeping in my lap and when I move around too much he snuggles right up against my leg or as close as he can.. @katarama

I feel like I read somewhere that cats actually do know when women are pregnant. when my best friends mom was pregnant, it almost seemed like cats flocked to her. weird.
