if you go into labor and your dr can't come in and you are stuck with the on call doctor, if he's a male can I refuse and have someone else?
also what she said, since you're wanting all of these things I'd suggest a birth plan to be printed out so everyone is aware of your wishes, I never bothered with a birth plan because I didn't have anything like that that I really cared about, but so everyone knows what your preferences are, I'd say make up a birth plan.
oh my god, my dr didn't mention any of this. thank you so much! @just9monthsx3
I'm sure you can, my regular doctor was a male, but the doctor that delivered was a female. but you can refuse anyone if you'd like. and as long as there is nothing wrong with your baby you can always hold him right after.
Yes you can @maliksmommie I suggest you print a birth plan ASAP and make sure your birth partner hands it out to your dr and nurses! Bring it to your next dr app too but have some ready for the big day! See it's crazy that they don't tell you that
Yes you absolutely can @maliksmommie
I also have the right to have mg baby on my chest for a while and delay cord clamping if they don't medically need to take him away, right? @just9monthsx3
oh so I can just say I want only mandatory staff to be in there and that everyone else needs to leave? @just9monthsx3
It's hard I felt that way with my first and it was traumatizing just remember you can tell extra staff to leave I didn't know that and had interns and all sorts of ppl all up in my junk with my first I really didn't like that but didn't know my options and my dr was there to catch he baby basically and left right after ... And that's why I have a midwife !@maliksmommie
That'll be the last thing on your mind if the on call doctor will be a male or female. All you think about is getting the baby out. My 2nd pregnancy I had an on call doc. Didn't have time to call my on and she wouldn't of made it on time. I had a male OB deliver my son who was at the hospital.
I don't know I just feel weird already by having people all up in my lady parts and I'm already getting anxiety thinking about it, and to think it may be a male is making it even worse. @swtlilangl
Honestly they may not have a female doctor available if the on call Doctor is a male. I used to think I had an issue with this but once you are that close to being done and in that much pain you probably won't care who delivers the baby. Male doctors are just as good and there isn't anything sexual or weird about it.
I don't know good ?.... if there isn't a female on call then what ??!?
What would you do with $25,000
If you received an extra $25,000. What would you do with it? ?

@maliksmommie, my midwife didn't make it to my second birth 😭 but the male doctor who was on call was amazing! he was next to best to her!! I'd say give the on call a shot.
