‼️‼️natural tear VS episiotomy‼️‼️
Looking for some experiences on natural tearing VS an episiotomy. How big was baby. Did you do one but wish you had went with the other. Healing time. # of stitches. Ect!
@livd15, I'm gonna go with tearing. For now! lol we will see how it goes!!! If this baby ever comes out!!!
my first I tore he was 8lbs 11oz my had 4 stiches took about a few weeks to heal second I had a episiotomy he was 9lbs, 5 stiches and if I remember correctly I was up and going just fine within 2 weeks. It definitely depends on how well you take care of the tear/cut
I had an episiotomy because my son got stuck in the birth canal because he was almost 11 lbs. I only had like 3-4 stitches and I healed within the first week.
the only help I had was them trying to stretch the lady parts for the baby
@junesmommy15, oh wow! And your baby was pretty average too! Oh Lordy!
@alainalovesmommy, @their.bomb.ass.mom 4 weeks isn't too bad. I'm not so much worried about how long it takes to heal rather then just making sure I heal properly!!! And yea pretty much everything I've read is that naturally tearing is much better to heal from than cutting. Plus I'm just not a fan of thinking about someone taking scissors to my lady parts! There nothing natural about that. But I'm also 100% against any forced removal of the baby such as pulling. Forceps. Vacuum. Anything. Fuck that. I refuse. I'd rather an emergency C section!
I know. I tore bad and they were stitching me up for a whole 3 hours.
I tore. My son was 7 pounds 3 ounces. I had a good 30 stitches. I can't tell you which was better. This is my first. It took 6+ weeks to heal.
my baby was 6 lbs 15 oz , I tore . 2nd degree . it took around 4 weeks to heal down there
I've always heard tearing heals better/faster than cutting. I can't say much for getting cut, but I had a 2cd degree tear, she was 8lbs 8oz, and I believe her head circumference was 13 inches. Not sure how many stitches, about 3 maybe 4. Took about 4 weeks for me to notice the stitches had dissolved, so they could have before then, but took 5-6 weeks to heal really well.
⚠️opinions⚠️
So I've asked this before but I'm asking again for more opinions.
Episiotomy vs. natural tearing?
My doctor was trying to talk me into an episiotomy and he almost had me sold...but I still feel like natural tearing would heal better. I need opinions/preferably personal experience!
Is it better to tear naturally or get an episiotomy?
Ok, so I'm working on my birth plan and have to ask; opinions on episiotomies?
I'm prettyyyy sure I'm gonna be tearing no matter what, I just didn't know what was best...the natural tearing or the episiotomy...
Did you tear while pushing and how bad was the experience of tearing?
Do they give you medications if you have natural birth? Like if you tear??
