I had my daughter three days ago and I have been breastfeeding and pumping and now my boobs are so engorged and hard. They hurt! What can I do to stop the pain?
I watched a breastfeeding video today and it said to massage your breasts as you're pumping/feeding, then to ice your breasts after. And if there's hard spots, that can mean there's a blocked milk duct so it's important to really massage it out.
@royalmommy,
took the words right outta my mouth a warm shower will def help or using a heating pad but be prepared to drip like crazy. Id say start nursing baby more frequently and stay consistent on your feeding schedule until it's a regular routine and your body regulated your milk production. When my son was NB I'd feed from.one breast and pump the other and then alternate between them until my milk supply was up. A lot of people seem to think newborns need a lot of milk formula but their stomachs are so tiny. 2-4oz is a lot at one feeding.
I had her early and was in the hospital a few days and the doctors told me I needed to start pumping while I was still in there to get my milk to come in faster @latia0321
