When Should I Pack My Hospital Bag for a High-Risk Pregnancy?

@mrsschutte1323, yeah i have high BP and GD also.. I have to start doing stress tests. omg on hr away from the hospital im glad i only live about 20 mins away from mine... thats a good idea keeping the hospital bag in the car.. but then i think about it and what if i go in my sisters car or my honeys car... i guess it wouldnt be that bad to just grab it out of the trunk

@jessiethelesbiann, @laceduplove1661 thanks ladies i just wasnt sure when i should start packing it. with my son i didnt pack it till i was about 39 weeks but that was 11 years ago and he had a normal healthy pregnancy this one has been hard and uncomfortable..

Yea my doctor said that my blood pressure has been getting higher and higher every time they check it so they'll have to keep an eye on it.. I also have gd and I'm just so worried. I see some mommies say they keep their bags in their cars... I'm probably gonna end up doing that the farther I get along so I can just have a small bag in the house that just needs a few things and then we can go. We live an hour away from the hospital.. @waffles2016

I had mine packed at 26 weeks. I have a very high risk pregnancy. went into preterm labor at 28 weeks and boyfriend just grabbed my bag and brought it to me. It was easy for him that way. went into preterm labor last week at 33 weeks and brought it again. I packed baby's bag at 30 weeks though. I figured if she was really coming it was easier for someone to grab it if I was at the hospital.

My doctor told me to start packing now. I will be 30 weeks on Thursday. My cervix is open and I have a pessary on it to stop dilating more but the pessary keeps slipping off and I've already had steroid shots for her lungs. So he said if I go into labor again they will not stop it, but plan is to get to 37 week's. I say you're good to go now. (:

@mrsschutte1323, i feel the same way. i feel like this baby is going to be early cause of everything going on. i feel like im not going to be prepared or have anything packed when i go into labor. they already told me that if my stress tests and high blood pressure doesnt start looking good im going to be induced at 34 weeks...

If I make it to 35 weeks *fingers crossed that I do other wise my doctor is going to make me go to a bigger farther away hospital* then I'll make sure everything is completely packed and ready to go except tooth brush and stuff

I'm not high risk and mine was 80% packed at 27 weeks with lists of everything that's supposed to be in them, lists of everything that is currently in them, and lists of what needs to be put in them before leaving. Just in case hubby has to grab the bags he knows what to do or if I'm too frazzled to remember what I'm supposed to pack and stuff. I am 85% convinced I'm going to have my baby early and I'm not going to be prepared or anything..

I'm not high risk and I did mine around 33 weeks. u end up taking everything out and adding and taking stuff out anyways. w being high risk I'd say u can do it now !

I would get it done soon , I had a high risk pregnancy and I had planned on packing mine after I got home from my 32 week appointment , well baby had other plans and I never made it home from my 32 week appointment ended up having him early and not having a bag packed !
