I ended up at ER a few days ago cause I woke up more swollen then ever and not feeling well. My bp was 150/90, I stayed a few hours for monitoring and then was told to go home rest (im alrrady on bedrest for pre e)and try not to stress cause if my bp gets any higher they'll have to take her. Well every day I wake up feeling a little more swollen than the day before and sleeping is a thing of the past because of the headaches and the general body aches. My question is, how do I know if my bp is worse?? I mean I don't have a monitor so do they just expect me to keep coming back every time I don't feel good, which is everyday??

@sam82, my insurance is covering one for me but they take 14 days to process the claims ...ugh. may have to spend the $ to buy my own, but seriously feel as though it won't be much longer...not feeling well at all...fingers crossed bp stays down as long as possible!

Most pharmacies have a machine where you can check your BP and the cuffs are sold over the counter if you want your own. Good luck!

I'd go buy one or call your OB maybe your insurance will cover it ? If I could I'd come take it for you lol I'm a nurse. the hospital gives away the disposable ones bc they can only use them once?!
