I still have about 2 months until my due date, but wanted to gather info so I can research and be prepared. I have some back injuries that my OB thought would leave me unable to receive the epidural. Still waiting for a final yes from the anesthesiologist after he reviews my MRI but my doctor thinks my injuries are low enough that it won't effect it. However, I have seen multiple women who have ended up with pain and issues due to the actual epidural and I definitely do not need any added pain or issues in that area. Does anyone have any advice, experiences, etc?

At first it's pretty bad. For the first month after I had pain that would start in my neck by the bottom of my head and go all the way down my back that left me paralyzed while the pain was happening. Sometimes I would get random spurts of pain where the epi was at but now after 3 months I don't have much pain anymore if any.

Oh yikes! I'm glad it is getting better for you. So it doesn't seem to be something that will be long term? I think I could handle a few months or so of increased pain I just don't want to add any more lifelong chronic pain. @santistevanmommie

Yeah it's definitely gone away and honestly at first I thought it would be long term and I was so freaked out by that thought because I would get the paralyzed feeling at night and I would wake up feeling it and it would scare the poop out of me
