Well at my doctor rn I give urine every time I go in and they test of or numerous of things including drugs.. This status was a question for when the baby is here and I'mare taking her to her doctor appointments. I heard they request urine but I guess I got mistaken from when I go to my doctor appointments for postnatal check ups they request urine and test for everything as well as drugs. They don't tell you, but if your doctor is cool I'm sure they'd tell you. My baby isn't here yet for me to go to my PP check ups but when I do have to go I'm sure my doctor would tell me they test urine for any kind of drugs.

U could always just refuse to give a urine sample..say u dont have to go. What are they gonna do? Hold u down and make u pee??

They check for drugs, really? I didn't know they did this. When does it happen at birth or every prenatal visit? I would hate not knowing i'm being tested for something without my consent.

Yeah definitely wait until all of your pp check ups are over just go be safe. And make sure baby isn't exposed in any way (obviously you know this part lol )

How long is the pp appointments?

while pregnant they can't check can't if your smoking only if they fine you suspicious. & most likely the hospital well check 100% during pregnancy and after.

@mommytoalara, if there was any in your system at any time of pregnancy cps will be notified, especially if the baby is born with it in her system. I know a couple personally who just went through this with cps and all its not fun. They will test you after she is born but only when it's an appointment for yourself. And this is a very touchy subject on here so just be aware you may get some negativity.

I would personally wait until your done with the postnatal check- ups because they routinely test for everything

I haven't smoked in two months. My drug tests have been negative. I'm talking about when baby is here and I'm taking her to her own doctor appointment, do they drug test me too?

I honestly believe it doesn't hurt the baby at all, just make sure you don't have ANY in your system when you give birth.

They definitely do test at every appointment, and they can test when the baby is born and take the baby away if the baby has it in their system. I would definitely wait until after you get home from the hospital, but after that you should be good. They won't even mention it at the doctor but they will at the hospital when you give birth.
