I have a question. My daughter is a month and a half old. I know her dr and everyone else I've talked to said she needs to sleep on her back. My problem is, she sleeps so so so much better on her tummy. My question is, if she can move her head from side to side, should I continue to let her sleep on her tummy, or just keep her on her back?

Just to add to the swaddling comment - my two month old daughter is a squirmy little thing and will kick and wiggle right out of a swaddling blanket within seconds of being in it. But she won't sleep unless she's swaddled up because she'll wake herself up from flinging her arms in her sleep! If you find yourself having this problem, get yourself a few of the Velcro Swaddlers. They are freaking LIFESAVERS!

@suggamomma, I will start trying to swaddle her at night. And @uhmandaxconrad92 thank you. I will start making her sleep on her back from now on.

SIDS remains a threat until at LEAST 12 months old.

No, try you best to get her to sleep on her back as much as you can, bc sleeping on the belly increases chances of SIDS. It's not bc they can't breath because they don't know how to control their head, it's bc it puts pressure on their lungs an it messes up their breathing pattern causing their lungs to strain and weaken. I personally know 2 people who lost their babies due to SIDS. So I can't stress this enough. They sell breathable mesh to help keep a baby on it's back. It's very important to make sure your baby always sleeps on their back!

Oh yeah my boys love sleeping on their tummies but I worry about them, I would personally wait until she is just a little bit older before leaving her on her belly over night. Have you tried swaddling her? my boys love It and ever since I started swaddling them I get about 3.5 hrs of sleep out of them

I'm the same yay with mine. Like last night she slept on her tummy and was a perfect angel all through the night. @suggamomma

My boys are two months and they can both hold their heads up pretty well but I am terrified to even leave the room when they are having tummy time.

So my baby is 8 weeks old and is thriving with weight gain each doctors visit. So here is my question: around 4-5 hours at night for sleep she wakes up every night and sucks on her thumb. (She finally this week likes it to soothe her during nap times) her eyes are still closed and she moves around and sucks it. I wake her to feed her. My question is should I just let it go? And see if she is just soothing herself to sleep? I don't want her to stave by morning if she sleep a couple of more hours. What would you guys do?

is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page
