I hate when people say, I live off the government or off others tax dollars just cuz they see ima teen mom but in reality I have ZERO goverent assistenst and There's nun I can get any way I don't have houseing (I'm homeless) I don't have stamps (my spend a lot on food) I dont have tanf (bf works for our dollars) we don't have anything and for people to just look at me and say that shit is so pathetic like Fuck wish I had some assistance but even being 17 with a 2 year old and almost 9 months pregnant I dont qualify for shit also people ask why I have 2 kids if I'm in such a bad situation well when I got pregnant with my first up until I was about 6 months with this one I wasent in and could never amagin myself in this situation life just crashed and there's no where to turn but be homeless for 3 months till my bfs 18 and even at that what do we do? I don't want to be separated or in a shelter for only women and baby's but I have to

My best friend had to do that with her 3 kids. it's a struggle but the shelter helped alot and helped her get into programs to find housing and help out a certain amount towards her rent now each month. you got this momma!

There is nothing wrong with utilizing goverment assistance and serivices when in NEED. the problem is people who become depemdent on it because they fear the workforce or because they are uneducated and unmotivated and it's easier to collect a "free" check. There have been times when I was a teen mom I needed the assistance then as soon as I got in a position working and making money I let that mess go! unfortunately the way shelters and low income housinging is set up it isnt set up for family it's designed to separate the man from the woman and kids smh so I say if you need it get it and take advantage of the resources like help paying for dither education, job and housing assistance and then when you no longer need it let it go without hesitation youre better off without it. Ppl are gonna think what they want as you said life happens. Now if in 5-10 years you still getting assistance then that is an issue. I got it at three diff times in life for no more than three years total they helped pay for my commute to work, work clpthes, and child care so because of that I was able to keep my job paying good money n afford child care if not I may have has to quit or be fired. I know someone who got their cosmetology school paid for by the gov't assistance. Use it don't depend on it if you need if you can do without by all means do so but unless your family can take care of you or your bf I'm sure at 17 with 1.5 kids you guys may need a little help n it's ok

I totally agree with @ginag918 It's supposed to be there for when you really need it. Don't let other people's opinions block you from your blessing. Use it to get on your feet and stable so you can be in a better position for your kids. Unless those same people are going to pay your bills and take care of your kids, then their opinion really does not matter.
