I need advice....so Thanksgiving is coming up and my family invited me over and said I should bring a ham. The problem is that my husband's mother wants us here with the baby. She's acting very mean towards me and giving me an attitude because I decided to go with my family and bring baby. My family has not made the effort to meet the baby since we live a state over. I feel like they should know my baby and I want them to meet him. It is very important to me that they meet him. I already told her we would spend Christmas and New year's. Idk what to do.

Let her know she can't have every holiday and that's it's very selfish to deprive your baby from meeting other family

talk to her, maybe. explain that even though they haven't put an effort to meeting your little one, you still want him to meet your family. its important to you. its just ONE holiday lol. maybe a good adult talk will do the trick to where she have an attitude with you.

exactly you have to alternate holidays. plus one way or any other you can please everyone because you can't be everywhere. I'd go to your family for thanksgiving and stick with the Christmas plan. tell her to pick a different day to do a thanksgiving dinner. holidays can be other days

Did you have one in the state they live in? I had two one in the state I'm in and one where most my family lives and whoever didn't make the effort to meet her I didn't put in the effort to make her meet them idk it's a judgement call only you can make if you want them to be apart of her life but your mil has to respect your decision since its your child
