guys I made a dumb mistake and need advice

Last year I had some friends staying with me. Well his cat started seizing up in our house and I'm a sucker for animals. So I made a credit account to take her to the vet. Experienced an unexpected death today, My dog was just fine last night, playing tug a war, chasing my daughter around while she laughed her head off. And today I had to make the decision to say goodbye to her, she was septic from a uterine infection. Never showed signs, nothing, was eating and drinking, I woke up to find her laying in her kennel and unable to move. My dog is sick ??

Anyone know anything about dogs with liver problems? My dog stopped eating and lost a bunch of weight so I took him to the vet yesterday. They did a X-Ray and saw his liver was bigger than normal and “shaped different”. His blood work also pointed to an issue with his liver. They are bringing in an ultrasound specialist hopefully by Tuesday to get a better look and figure out what exactly the issue is. I’m devastated ? he’s withering away right before my eyes.
