Ajani is small. 😔 Strong, no genetic abnormalities, great anatomy scan, good heart rate...but small. He's only in the 74th percentile for his gestational age. Hoping I can fill him out some. Grow, little man, grow!
Lmao let me know if that works lol I'm dying over here 😂😂😂😂
YES @rhonda.otero Like, we worry enough so don't add to it! I told my husband if she's the one on-call when Ajani is born, I'll cross my legs and wait for the next shift lol
Oh ok I don't like when one doctor worries me about something and the other is like its fine... I even had one prescribe me something and the other tell me not to take it. I wish they would all get on the same page so we can have peace of mind
@rhonda.otero, this doctor is weird. Thankfully she isn't my regular practitioner. I'm not sure what she expects...maybe a 5 pounder at 23 weeks? My regular OB isn't concerned about it. Plus I'm not a big person myself.
Is that a really bad thing? 74 seems like he is in average.. What are they wanting him to be in? You still have a way to go so he will grow more...
@zombiemombie, WOW! That's kinda cool! I'm comfortable with my main OB, AND the other 2 in practice, just not so much the one we met today lol She kinda made me feel like I'm starving my baby or not trying hard enough. Maybe her bedside manner was just off-putting. I'm not really that sensitive so for her to get to me, there was really a disconnect.
agreed! mine is a hippy who has a band named after him and Lollapalooza posters in his offices. lol. do you feel comfortable with yours?
Thank you @zombiemombie OBs are a weird breed indeed.
my doctor has a habit of making everything happy and cheerful then the what ifs start. which is very off putting. don't get discouraged momma. you're doing great ,baby is gonna grow at his own pace. were all different sugar.
Siri. Lol. I meant I'm talking to Siri and she was typing. Lol. I'm sorry. Yah doctors make me nervous too. I know they need to be honest but they should try to explain things in different ways or tell you not to worry. These things can be fixed if you do this, this and this. If not then we'll do this or this. You know?
@princevince, no grammar nazi here, thanks for your input! The doctors make me a little nervous sometimes.

Sorry if there's any typos or lack of periods or grammatical errors I'm talking to serious you type this because I'm feeding my son LOL
74th is good! At 29 weeks they said my son was in the 18th percentile so they said that they would do another growth scan at 34 weeks and then he said he was under percent girl at 7th percentile so they put me on fetal monitoring twice weekly and an NST tests and said he was in the 7th percentile but by the time he was born he was 6 pounds which I thought was really good he's two months now and I'm sure he's almost 11 pounds because if you weeks ago we brought him to the doctor it was 9 1/2 ounc which I thought was really good he is two months now and I'm sure he's almost 11 pounds because if you weeks ago we brought him to the doctor it was 9 1/2 pounds they use the term IU GR but I don't think you was because of you was he would still have problems gaining weight. They told me to eat a lot of protein which I did I ate healthy fats a lot of vegetables carbohydrates and I drank ensure is peanut butter shakes with Banana stuff like that stuff like that
That's weird your guest OB wasn't thrilled...being 74th it means your little guy is about the same size as 74% of other babies in the same gestational week. right now my daughter who is 7 months is over 80th for her weight.. she's a little chunker lol...to me it sounds like yours is at a good size.. but I'm not a dr and very well could be wrong. I'm just telling you of my experience 😊 I was always concerned with the size, I am a diabetic and we tend to have larger babies but I took care of myself and she was normal size at every ultrasound.
how much does he weigh and how far along are you ?
@eskawho, My guest OB wasn't thrilled. (We have 3 in the office and after week 20 we have an appointment with each to get familiar.) My regular didn't seem too concerned, he just wants me to try to relax more lol
74th is pretty good.. anything between 10th and 90th percentile drs are not to concerned with. my baby was usually between 50 and 80th. at least this it what I was explained to by my Dr.

almost 5 months and my belly still small i kinda want it to grow a little more 😂
Small baby.
Okay, I get it. He's small.
