What do you mommies think about me starting to use sign language with my baby? And my two year old nephew who talks when he wants. Do u think he may catch on to the sign language? He uses his hands a lot like to point.

Im getting information on starting sign language for my baby. A friend of mine did it with her now 6 year old when she was just a baby and she still uses it and learns more every day. Shes now wanting to learn more so she can talk to a deaf man at her church =)

That is beautiful. I've always wanted to learn! I can help her with both. I love the opportunity

My daughter had one sign ("all done") by the time she was 9 months old. She can now sign "all done" "more" "food" "please" at 16mo. And I'm working on others with her. I am a sign language interpreter, so luckily I have all the vocabulary she needs :)

And yes, it is a great idea! I love that she can communicate so much better! It has also helped her with spoken language! She is very advanced on her spoken language skills as well. My 3yo nephew doesn't speak well so I've been working with him too.

@cookiemonster1216, how many should I try to teach the 2 year old at a time?

@ya0515, I'd recommend maybe 2 at a time. After he/she knows those two, move onto another set, but make sure to continue using the first two still. I'd start out with something that you say often like "more" or "food" something you say often enough to practice regularly. aslpro.com is a free online ASL (American Sign Language) dictionary that has videos of tons of signs, so that may be a good place to start or you can just YouTube "learn baby sign language" and you should be able to find some good ones.

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

Locking your doors We are having a discussion on one of my birth boards from my older kids about locking doors and security alarms. There are many of us (me included) who do not lock our doors at home (I actually don't even have a deadbolt on my house and we don't lock it when we leave either), and others who think that's totally weird. So what do you do? Do you lock your doors? Do you think it's weird that people don't?

Am I wrong to be upset? Last night I was running a fever, weak, tired, sore, my left boob feels like it got used as a punching bag. I asked my husband to call out of work today to help me with the kid so I could get some rest. He went to work. I texted him this morning. Part of me thinks I mean. The other part of me thinks I was fine for saying that because he should've stayed home with us.
