I know that pain means incorrect latch... But my baby girl literally refuses to latch right sometimes and that's the main reason I want to get one. Will it help her learn how to latch? @_akgirl
yes. i was given one in the hospital because my daughter wouldn't latch good on one side and it helped. along with different positions. used it the first week home then she was good
Nipple shields are often used to mask an actual problem like lip/tongue tie, incorrect latch ect. All areas of possible issues should be looked into by an appropriate source (lactation consultant) before turning to a nipple shield you'll be covering a fixable issue if other issues aren't looked into first. A nipple shield should be looked at as a last resort. It can cause worse nipple confusion then any bottle or pacifier, and is extremely hard to wean a baby off of one.

i did in the beginning. it helped a lot. also pain=incorrect latch. keep using shield off and on as it can help. if it continues I'd recommend a LC
