So my husband, son and I are currently living with my mother. We keep having a major disagreement. we are trying to find our own place and finally applied to a crappy one bedroom for 785. It's all we can afford in the portland area without there being a 2 year waitlist. anyways. We have $970 saved up so far and are just waiting to put aside our paychecks too when we get them this week. Anyways, my mother doesn't work. She is 48 and won't work because of her fybro. that and because she has "caregiver burn out" from taking care of my grandma for a few years. she recently came into a 180k inheritance when my grandma passed in January. her fiancé pays her half of the bills. And right now she is wanting us to pay double the bills for the month, even though she knows we are trying to save. She went to texas for the week and literally blew through her inheritance on stupid cowboy boots, hats, shit she will never use. And now she claims to be broke and we need to cover the bills (plus our own mind you) so she doesnt get screwed. Which by the way she wants us to take out of our possible apartment money. We feel like she is doing everything in her power to keep us there so we pay her bills and she can stay at home all day and bitch everyone out for "not helping". she is perfectly capable of working so she can kiss our ass. now after work i have to take 500 out of the 970 to pay the bills so she will get off our back. I'm just so depressed and feel stuck.
