How many moms are against the flu shot ? I haven't got it and my son hasn't either and I'm really not planning to. But so far an infant died already here in California because of the flu. So I'm scared
I didn't get it my first pregnancy either but there's a lot going around this time so I figured after talking to my doctor why not? My arm hurt and that was about it.
Yeah I'll talk to my dr when I go in on Tuesday. I didn't get the flu shot with my first and thank god I didn't get sick. I'll see what he has to say about it. @babykellersmommy
I got the flu shot. Wasn't worth the risk to myself or my baby not to. The type of flu shot my OB gave me does not introduce the virus, so at the most you may feel tired and have an achy arm.
I got it on Wednesday and feel fine! :) My doctor said you are at a higher risk for getting the flu while pregnant. I would just consult with you doctor ask them all the questions. I know some shots they actually put the virus in you to make you immune from it but they don't do that with the flu shot anymore! :)
Yeah I just have this big feeling inside of me that tells me not too. But we shall see. aha Thank you. hopefully I don't jinx myself after this. Good luck to you as well, hope your labor goes as planned and easy. @stacy_
@xaviersmommy, yeah, you do what you think is right.. It's kind of hard to make such decisions, but deep inside your intuition will help you with that :) good luck and don't get sick:)
Hopefully my son has a good immune system like his father and I. My bf never gets the flu shot and I honestly never really seen him sick and I've been with him since 09. the most he gets is a runny nose. and I hardly get sick too. All I really would get was ear infections. but I haven't got sick in over a year, thank god. but when I did it would last 3 or 4 days. Same with my baby. he's gotten sick twice but it was because of an ear infection he had, not a cold. I will call his dr Monday and see if I can get a copy of what ingredients come in "this year's flu shot" since I seen I can demand to see that before I make a decision for my baby. then I'll go on from there.
people have died from different versions of the flu shot, so I'm good lol
yes that's how I am. when I see my son with a minor fever or a running nose I take him to the dr first then anything. but yes that is so true. something different all the time. @babycasey
@xaviersmommy, well, I am paranoid now:) I'll totally do a huge research on it. The thing is it's hard to find an appropriate literature about vaccines. All sources are so controversial
my kids have done well on their own, I'm usually pretty good at catching and signs before it gets any further... it just seems there always something that comes back negative about the "current" vaccine and next year it'll change....
@xaviersmommy, go check your child for allergy to vaccine most common ingredients and when you are trying to decide if you want to do it or not, check the vaccine ingredient list. I think I'll avoid flu shot for a few years and wait my kid to develop a nice immune system first.. Yes I get sick, but I don't die from it and maybe they'll change something over time and flu shot will become more benign
oh god. I'm sorry about your loss. I would feel the same way as you. I will forever be paranoid if something like that happened to me after any shot. @stacy_
@babycasey, yeah that's how my sister in law is. my nephews would get really bad. so she hasn't got it for a few years and they hardly get super sick now. I'm just reading some ingredients it has and that's what making me like ehhh I don't think I want all those toxins in me or my child.
I'm against it. Each time I get it I get sick! Last time I got it I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks and I'm pretty sure it was the shot that caused it. Now I'm scared to do it, because I'm scared it'll induce my labor and I want everything to go naturally. I never had a problem with a flu shot before I moved to US
@steph11, like I told her. I AM looking into it.! After seeing everything I'm researching it.
I agree with @chelsie918 you need to look at facts not people saying this person died from the flu shot. if it is scientifically proven they died from it OK but people just saying babies and pregnant women have died from the shot doesn't make it true
I'm obviously looking into it, I'm not dumb enough to make a decision on who is getting it and who is not on here. but there's nothing wrong with asking! @chelsie918
I'm not against it, I just didn't get it. I didn't get it while pregnant with my first either for laziness reasons. My daughter hasn't gotten it, yet, and I'm not even sure if she will. I'm usually a "pro-vaxx" kinda person, but I'm undecided.
I didn't get it. & my mother didn't ever let me get it as a kid
🙋🙋 I never allow my kids to get it. the few times any of them did they were sicker than shit..... ever since I opt out.
i would look at real, credible scientific information based on studies and research to make your decision rather than asking people who may not have done the same and are persuaded and influenced by media propaganda
@kparis, Me too ! everyone I know gets sick a few days after getting it, and I seen online a 9 year old began to lose her vision and got paralyzed from her waste down days after getting hers too.
My doctor also recommended me getting the flu shot while pregnant ? I'm not sure if I want to or if i should ? It's all scary to me !! What do you ladies think ? Did you get the flu shot while pregnant ? Are there any risks? Or should I wait ? I'm so scared of taking anything while pregnant , much less getting this shot.. He said it isn't mandatory , just recommended.
I'm so ready to go into labor but I'm so scared of that pain 😩😩😩
Flu shots for baby
Anyone having baby take the flu shot? Why or why not? Pediatrician recommended it but I'm not sure.
And then came the flu 🤒. Three week old baby and I catch the damn flu...so what now 🤔🧐
Flu shot is necessary??
I took my son to his new pediatrician yesterday. I loved her! Except for one thing. She said to go back in 4 months so my son gets his flu shot. I told her we don't get the flu shot and she said he has to because I'm having a baby soon and that's what's best. Really? He got the tdap and I'm getting the tdap in two weeks but is the flu shot really necessary? I've always been against getting it. What are your thoughts?
there really is too much going on in this damn world. everything gives cancer or people get sick some how. aha I'm just going to live in a damn bubble forever with my kids @babykellersmommy
