they will smell it and associate themselves with baby smell. my dog already loves kids so I don't have to worry. I'm just sending my hubs home with the receiving blanket the day before we come home so she has the scent
@williams15, see this is our 1st Baby and our dog has never been around kids or babies so we are a little worried. But I will have to have him do the same just bring the blanket home so she can get used to it before we take him home!
My grandma told me to take a stuffed toy or a blanket something like that and let the baby sleep with it then bring it home and let the dog smell it so he can get used to it , we shall see if it works my dog already rubs himself on my belly like he's showing Madison that she can't have me
my dog snuggles up to my stomach. she sleeps with her head on my stomach most days. does your dog do something like that? my dog is also protective of my stomach.
