I use this and the wonder weeks app and they've been pretty spot on for us
with growth spurts there is no set schedule but usually they happen with in a window I'll find the chart
you should not give him juice yet! he's to little the first 6 weeks are basically a giant growth spurt with another at like 2 months to 3 months so he could still be in the 6 week one or the 2 month one. bf babies can go up to 2 weeks with out pooping and are completely fine
@steph11, I'm pretty sure it's a growth spurt. I think lol I have no idea how to tell
sounds like the switch made him constipated if he doesn't poop for 3-4 days I say do a little sapository I had to with my kids because of formula. or try prun baby food or some water down Apple juice
@rockermama, any tips on constipation? lol with bfing I know he'll have less poopy diapers but with him getting a bit of formula shouldn't he have them more he usually gives me 2-3 poops every 4 or 5 days I dunno if that's enough.
I don't breast feed anymore and I don't leak very much or very often anymore but I still produce and it still leaks ever now and then I'm used to it now lol. don't let other people pressure you, if you feel like he's fine bf then that's all you as for giving him formula. you can half and half it but you have to regulate it because it can mess up his tummy.
breastfed babies only need 1 to 1.5 Oz a hour their whole baby life, and never more than 5ozs at one time pace fed! bm changes every time to what baby needs. if he acts like he's always hungry he might be going thru a growth spurt to get you to make more milk or just needs the bonding or to be comforted. babies use breastfeeding for more than just nutrients
I absolutely love it and are determined. it's super easy now! there's no pain no engorment nothing. plus my daughter refuses all bottles even bm bottles. if I didn't be determined I wouldn't have made it this far. I only have support from my mom and dad who I see once a week where I see my bfs family almost daily and they hate that I breastfed.
@mrsmoore, I wish I could say no without feeling like a horrible mother. everyone says he's so hungry all the time and they don't think I'm making enough and telling my I need to up it to 6 ounces or 8 ounces :( it makes me wanna cry cause I feel like I'm not good enough for him.
Nope. Sorry. I hate it. And the only thing saving my sanity with this is breast pads. Even though I hate them with a passion
don't allow him to have any formula idk why people think breastmilk is empty and doesn't fill them up it does baby's eat more often when breastfed if they want to feed baby let them feed him breatsmilk, also your baby can breastfeed every five mins its called cluster feeding when that happens and most people mistake that as they aren't making enough but when that happens baby is actually getting your body to make more of a milk supply I know its hard and tiring but don't let anybody tell you to do something you don't want to do with your baby they can state their opinion it doesn't mean you have to follow it ,keep at it you got this with my oldest two sons I formula and breastfed till six month then just formula fed with my third son he's 3 months now he's exclusively breastfed and uses no bottles at home he only uses bottles at daycare we have maybe two bottle in the house for when I pump and his dad wants to feed him what I pumped
@mrsmoore, that's similar to how much I leak but I leak alot in the a.m. @steph11 somedays I feel like giving up on bfing how do you make it that far @rockermama do you still bf!? how do you do it I'm struggling especially with everyone insisting on formula feeding him as well. when its just me and him I bf all day but when his dad and Papaw are here they have to give him formula cause they think he's starving when I know he's not I could just feed him on both breast for 10-15 minutes and he'll be okay but everyone insists he's still hungry.
my daughter's almost two and I still lactate. I don't think it will ever end.
I still do pretty badly some days at 5 months pp. but other times I don't at all
I only leak during let down and one side leaks for a few sec when I feed him
@mrsmoore, okay I hope it'll happen soon he's 7 weeks is shower compared to before but still alot
no to ever stop leaking but yes the leaking will slow down once your milk is regulated
I'm still breast feeding though I just didn't expect it to leak this much. @lindquist_18
lol it took a long time for me maybe different for you but, I haven't breastfeed my son in a month an a half now. i just check the other day if I have stopped leaking and when I did I still had a little milk leak out.
@steph11, thank you so much this is great
