so I found out I might be able to get more maternity leave than just the 42 days the regulation says. I really really hope they can give me another week or two, especially since I'm a single mom. it'd be so nice
Oh I haven't seen anything about the breastfeeding policy but I am gonna look for it...
SMA Dailey is calling for a review of the maternity and paternity leave policy for the army. but they haven't put anything into effect yet @caiseclosed2015
they also seriously need to review the breastfeeding policy they just put out, but that's a whole other topic lol
Right I just saw an article about the extra leave that u could take for the first year.... I could have really used that when I was active.... by the way when someone says thank you for your service my husband always says Thank You for your support.... lol it kinda just flows now.
@olliesmom I know it just seems since it's all service etc should be the same but eh Idk...that's plenty you rock either way
different branches different regs @islandftm and I'm never sure what to say to that other than thank you for the thanks lol
@olliesmom well that doesn't seem fair at all. thanks for your service by the way!
the air force, navy and marine corps all get the initial 6 weeks and then another 12 weeks of nonchargable leave to be used within the first year of the kids life @islandftm . not the army though
oh my I only got 6 weeks as well but I was on bedrest....but baby came way early so I didn't get to enjoy like I planned
I'm in the army lol. we get 42 days by the regulation on leave and passes.
How's it work if you're a single mom on base? Are there daycare centers? And I wanna hear about the breastfeeding policy
