When did you mommies start baby food and do any of you put the baby cereal in the milk bottle? if so when did you start that?
@drewmarie, her ceral? she has severe GERD, along with other issues that caused her to not be able to handle regular liquids, the thickened bottle is easier for her to swallow and digest😊
@eskawho aww my favorite age is 6-12 months. that's when things really start to get exciting. I can't wait for my son to be 6 months. He's 2 months now and he's very advanced for his age! Few more months and he'll be eating mushed bananas and baby foods!! can't wait
She still doesn't have any teeth but she sure uses her gums to mash soft foods lol. I keep checking for them to pop through but nothing yet lol.
@alauraandabdielsmom Aww! what's the reason for it if you don't mind me asking?
@drewmarie, I wish lol! our gi specialist told us the ceral was literally to thicken her bottles because she can't handle thinner liquids and there was no other use for it in the bottle (she's still on it at almost 8 months, she can't drink thin liquids still partially because she's been on the thick so long!)
Lol I know I wanted to start early with food at 4 months but after doing research and talking to my baby's pediatrician I decided to wait until 6 months and she pretty much eats anything
@eskawho, thank you! I'm sure he won't need it I was just wondering. I know a lot of parents who did put it in the milk and I always wondered what it was for so thank you for that. I can't wait to start him on baby food. I can tell he's getting excited to try something other than similac hahaha
Ceral does not change sleeping either, or at least it didn't for us. my daughter was put on it a few days old for sever gi issues and it did nothing to help her sleep
no the cearal is empty calories and baby get all the nutrition from bottle or breast...some people will do it before bed to keep them full and sleep longer or because they have digestive issues but your babys pediatrician would know if they need it. they don't need it to keep them full it's normal for babies to get up at night in the first year...I usually give mine and extra ounce of formula...she still gets up but not to feed she's 7 months now. you can always check with the pediatrician. even with solids she gets a bottle 4 sometimes 5 times a day because that's where she gets what she needs...solids is just for fun and to try new things.
@eskawho thank you!! I was thinking around 6 months and oops I thought the cereal in bottle for was just for extra nutritions?
6 months I started baby food...never did cearal in a bottle...baby doesn't need that unless dr recommends it because they have digestive issues.
