Am I Wrong Because I'm Not Giving My Son His Father's Last Name ? We're Not Married So I Don't See What The Big Deal Is
At the end of the day it is ultimately your decision. Day to day we see women make that mistake.
@modifiedmermom, Sorry For Responding Late 😩 But That's What I'm Afraid Of...I Don't Want To Breakup And My Son Is Stuck With His Last Name...Today I Made The Decision To Give Him Just My Last Name Instead Of Both
It is just the fact that knowing anything can change, bc after having a baby does not necessarily make things easier
No you are not wrong at all! For the sake of our love and my husband understanding prior that my son would NOT have his last name if I didn't we got married. When you are just in a relationship, many things can go wrong. My cousin gave her son his father's middle and last name, as well as his first mother except she gave her son his whole name, and he has been very absent
@babycasey, That Sounds Right! Me And Him Were Married I Wouldn't Have A Problem With Giving The Baby His But I'm Giving Him Both
@pretty_xoxo_giirl_, I Understand...Some Of My Reasons Are Similar To Yours Like He's Just Now Starting To Be Proactive 😒 Tf Our Baby Due Next Month...I'll Just Do Both Names So He Can Stfu About It
@their.bomb.ass.mom, Yeah It Is 😒 I Might Just Give My Baby Both Of Our Last Names
@t142, I Have Too! I'm Really Thinking About Giving Him Both Names Lol
@yahuahsdaughter, That Why I'm Really Skeptical...I've Been Thinking About Just Giving Him Both Last Names So I Might Do That
if he is wilw to claim him don't stop him. it really helps the kids self esteem when they are older. you can give both names. my daughter has both my last name and my hubby's and so do i. i never gave up my last name.
I never thought of that. That's a good idea! I always think of the horror of seeing someone's face because me and my child have different names. I've seen other people do it to mothers. It's always the older crowd that does it.
@their.bomb.ass.mom, My Bf Told Me A Few Weeks Ago He's Not Signing The Certificate If My Baby Doesn't Have His Last Name Smh And To Think That We're Still Together 😒
all of my 3 kids have my last name because I was not married (older 2 from 9yr relationship) but they'll always be mine. This time I am married and even tho our daughter has my last name, (because hubs and i were not married yet) our son will have his, since now we are married.
I think that's what I'm going to do. Give her both. He hasn't really been around since the day/night we made the baby but wants to attach his last name to her like, Oh, Yea that's all ME but hasn't been to 1 Dr appt, hasn't felt her kick, hit me up even as a "FRIEND" to talk, hang out, go EAT, nothing, & he hasn't provided 1 single thing for her besides his sperm. . . . . So those are my reasons. Plus were not married.
I dont think you are wrong at all. You are the mother and carrying this child, its up to you and what you think is best.
No I don't think it's wrong. My child's father has my last name, and he isn't on the birth certificate. Different situation, but he isn't involved. I doubt this baby will have her fathers last name either, even if we are together, we aren't married and idk how I feel about it.
@t142, That's Exactly How I Feel..I'm Thinking About Giving Him Both Of Our Last Names But Idk Yet
@briann.stanley, I Was Think About That Last Night..Maybe I Should Give Him Both Last Names
@yahuahsdaughter, A Couple a Weeks Ago He Said He's Not Signing It If He Doesn't Have His Last Name
me and my babys father are not married either. i was thinking about giving our son both last names...
They get pissed off about that. I don't want to either. I think when going to a place you announce your full name and your child's you lose value as a woman because they see you two have different last names. That's just how I personally feel about it but my BF is so angry and hurt because that's how I feel. He too, really wants the baby to have his name.
is the dad claiming him as son on the birth certificate?
sometimes it helps the kid feel better when they grow up knowing their dad was part of their birth in the name even if they where not present or raised, it your personal choice

I will be 41 :/
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
Things I never thought I'd say...
Until I became a mom:
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
My SO and I are doing both of our last names for that reason. So many of my girlfriends regret giving their babies the fathers last name instead of theirs because of them leaving the family. I agree with what you are doing! If you and baby daddy get married you can change it or add it on then'
