Okay, so I'm not against this new rear facing untill 2 years of age law, but I have a question...
What if the child has long legs..? Couldnt that cause leg issues being scrunched up like that...?
Because I already know connor is going to have longer legs.. he's got my legs. Is there like.. a height/weight requirement that says you can switch it around any sooner? I saw a picture the other day of a child rearfacing, and it's legs were all scrunched and awkwardly placed... it looked like the most uncomfortable & painful thing ever. I felt bad for the child..

the way my carseat safety class instructor put it to us is they sit cross legged all the time... it's not gonna hurt them to be a little uncomfortable in the long run bc it's safer. but yes there is a height and weight they can be turned around at for most seats I believe. whichever carseat you have, should have all the recommendations in the instruction manual :)

But what if they aren't crossed all the rime.. and it causes damage to growing legs.. it just seems a bit crazy. I know it's safer, but still.. @uhoh2015

Lol I don't think it causes any harm... my niece and nephew are in the 100+ percentile in height for their ages and have really long legs, they both rear faced to a little over 2 bc they were thin and their momma didn't feel comfy switching them til they reached like 45 lbs. and they're both fine. no keg issues at all! my nephew just turned 3, I'm 5'1" and the tip of his head comes to my elbow... my brother and her are tall, hence the tall kiddos. but I'd say if it concerns you, ask a pediatrician :) I'm sure they'll tell you want you need to hear to have peace of mind!

Children are seriously so flexible. It's not uncomfortable for them at all. Kids like to sit cross legged most of the time anyways, it's more comfortable than their legs dangling tbh.

Even if it was uncomfortable I'd rather them be uncomfortable than get seriously injured. And people putting their children in bumbos, dangling them by their crotches in (badly made) baby bjorns, and putting them in walkers so thy learn how to walk on their tippy toes causes more issues than rear facing.. But people do it all of the time and all their babies come out perfectly fine.

Look up the YouTube videos on front facing babies in crashes. It changed my whole view on wanting my baby to front face. I'd rather her break her legs than be internally decapatated. Not trying to come off rude mama!

I used to work for highway patrol... You can live with broken legs... You can't live the same life with a broken neck, trust me... It is more safe for their legs to be crossed rear facing
