if my daughter is perfectly heathy, and happy what does it matter that I don't give her solids yet…

stand up for yourself! mothers milk and formula will always be the number one source of baby's nutrition as long as baby drinks milk. my boyfriend's mom is always saying I should give him water, cereal in a bottle (I just read that nothing but milk and water should be given to a baby in a bottle) she even wanted to give him the juice from beans in a bottle! I said NO way! then everyone says I should give him formula so he can be full longer and do use a bottle so he can get milk faster (he's exclusively breastfed). I'm like no, no, and no! I'M his mother, leave me the f alone. I make the decisions for me and my child.

I read this article that if you give baby solids before 6 months it can cause them to have gut problems. This mom said her son threw up every day of his life after being started on solids at 4 months and he was 9 when the article was written and still threw up almost everyday. It made him scared to eat and sleep because of how much he would puke

@mariceladez, they kept saying that she needs Cereal in her bottle at night, she's ebf won't take a bottle and sleeps from 9-10 to 5-6. I'm thrilled with that. @santistevanmommie @paisleysmama0216 I feel bad because she's super interested in food but if making her wait a month will help with her digestive system that's more than fine with me. his mom was trying to let her have lolly pop today I don't plan on giving her anything but breastmilk til 1 for drinks I'd be happy not introducing food until 1 but that won't happen

I feel the same way. If I could wait till a yr I would. But I definitely will be waiting until 6 months for anything but breastmilk because that story scared the crap out of me

Dr told me to start at 4 months because he has such severe acid reflux and spits up most of his bottle he wasn't putting on weight properly so now he's on target with weight and his reflux isn't as bad he will be 6 months on the 17 of this month hopefully my unborn one won't need to get food till six months old

@santistevanmommie, I'm going with when she sits up well enough for my liking she just wants to stand up so it's on her back burner she just tips over @littlemiracles for baby's with reflux I totally understand you do what you have to do. she's 5 months and I'm thinking she's 17 lbs at 4 months she was 16.2 lbs. I don't get why unless for medical reasons everyone thinks babies need to eat so early.

until they had me give him food he was 6 pounds under weight now he's on target he's finally just under 16 pounds

My baby is now 6 months and EBF and had his check up last week. His doctor said I could introduce solids if he seemed interested. Which sometimes he does so I've offered a few but he only tries it and spits it out. Never eats it. I think he just wants to chew on stuff so I'm not pushing foods on him, he's gaining weight and perfectly healthy so there's no rush for us

@littlelady, Sadie is very interested maybe look into baby led weaning he chew on stuff that way. I'm waiting until she can sit up if she was 6 months and sits up how she does now she's not getting food. just do what you want! we're going to do a mix of steamed soft food and purees based on what she likes.
