So, the other day when I had my gender/anatomy US the tech said that my placenta was kinda low and my Dr scheduled another US for 32 weeks....what does that mean? is it bad?
If your placenta is low lying covering all or some of your cervix you are at risk for bleeding and other complications. They would actually not let you have a vaginal birth, you would have to have a csection. It's called placenta previa. It can more though. I had it when I was 20 weeks all the way until I was about 33 weeks, but it has moved and I will be able to have a vaginal birth now.
When a placenta is low they get nervous that it can cover all or part of the cervix. if it does it can cause issues with delivery because the baby would have to come out after or with, which can cause bleeding and other problems. you definitely wouldn't want your placenta out before baby since that's the life line.
ok Yea I'm like 21 weeks and having it checked again when I'm 32 so....I just didn't want to freak out
