Ok moms, I'm having a c section and I need some input from both c section mom or moms who delivered vaginally using epidural. So... for c section moms, did you opt for a spinal tap or epidural? I have heard some moms complain of lower back pain and bruising months after having their c section with a spinal tap. I'm not sure if its the same with epidurals. Would you have remained with your choice knowing what you know now? For those who had epidurals, I've heard you get really bad headaches days, even weeks, after delivering, did you experience this and how long did it last? Did you also experience lower back pain and for how long? I'm trying to figure out whats the best option for me, as a mom to be, what is the best one to get over quickly with minimum side effects. Thank you in advance!

I had an epidural and delivered vaginally and did not experience side effects such as headaches, back pain or numbness in my legs long after I delivered. I've also heard they can lengthen labor, increase the risk of perineal tear and cesarean section. I say all that to say, during labor my blood pressure dropped and was threatened with the possibility of a cesarean but I overcame with being on a epidural getting on all fours to push him out. He came out in an hour of intense pushing and it resulted in two small tears. Whatever you go with, I'm sure you'll make the best decision!
I had the epi because my csection wasn't planned. It started to wear off during stitches so they had to give me more stuff in it during, I don't remember getting anymore headaches or anything than usual
I had an epidural because I labored prior to my c section, they just gave me the numbing meds through that. No headaches but for a month after I would get back pain that went through my whole back and up my neck and made me not be able to move while it was happening. And it hurt really really bad
I did not get an epidural delivered naturally but I did have migraines for wo months after. I think the headaches are more hormonal then from the epidural. But I have heard of the epidural causing back pain as well

Regardless of how you deliver your baby, C-section or vaginal, you are still a mother. Too many people have misconceptions about C-section moms. Some is unintentional but many of these uninformed comments can be quite offensive and hurtful. my first labor was induced. which increases the risk of having a csection due to progressing slow and baby not withstanding the labor. but even though my first labor was long 21 hours of hell..i only pushed three times and my awesome girl came. i tore...but with the spray anesthetic it was not a big problem. i did suffer from back pain but my sister never had epidurals she had her three kids naturally. and she said she had back pain. so i relate it more to our having to carry baby a lot and being big women. with my second my labor was natural and lasted only seven hours i also got the epi due to being intimidated by nurse saying the anestitian would be going home and may not return when i needed him to. i regret having it because it was such an easy labor i felt i might have beeb able to do it naturally....unfortunately that experience wasnt as beautiful as it could have been due to the hospital. so id say epis are good. but wait till u need one. the pushing was also done in like fifteen minutes. three. to five pushes and bam i had second baby no tears.
