I used a nipple shield ! It's kind of a pain in the ass but if you really want to Breast feed its worth it

The nipple shield is something you have to use every single time you breast feed or pump or does inverted nipples not matter with a pump ? @mommyofmisters

Just everytime you Breast feed ! It doesn't matter with the pump it works just fine :)

I would pump a few minutes first then get baby to latch. I don't have inverted nipples but mine are small n soft so I have to hold it in his mouth. n then squeeze milk for him to know

Awesome, depending on if I start working before she's 6 months I may have to pump , if you don't mind may I ask how long you've been breast feeding just so I can get an idea :)

@islandftm, mine are kinda small as well but they've been expanding a lot but I have no little tip on my nipple (sorry if that's tmi) and when it's squeezed it goes in so I'm going to have to use something that stays on my nipple the duration of her feeding, thank you for the input I'm do some research on the aspiration:)

Glad to help!! Before preggie I had no idea such a thing as an inverted nipple even existed I just thought I had really tiny ones but now I know and can educate myself so I can do the best for my princess:)

@brandylemonds15 I wonder if I have the same thing...unless I'm cold I forget I have nipples lol my baby was preemie so his jaws get tired easy n he doesn't breathe when eating so I pump mostly either way he's getting your milk so don't give up. you may be able to get with a lactation nurse before or after delivery. mine came to see me daily in the hospital I asked questions n got good help

Hmm that may be what I have to do is pump , but I thought if baby didn't try to eat off your nipple your supply would dry up ? Idk I just started researching breastfeeding @islandftm

I used a nipple shield for 11months with my second one...I have a flat nipple and an inverted nipple...I tried pumping to pull them out, but it was not enough and my little one never had an issue...every now and then she could knock the shield off and feed but it was rare and far between
