so I want to quit smoking cigarettes, I got told its not safe to quit now. To quit in the second trimester? can someone help me please?
I have heard to slowly get yourself off of it also. It can stress your body out way too much if you cold turkey.
It's stressful to quit cold turkey but the chemicals are harmful if you wait too late so you gotta taper off...I know some ppl who never quit just significantly stopped as much
I quit cold turkey the day I found out. 4 weeks 1 day. It was so difficult. When I saw my ob at 8 weeks she said I could have tapered off or used patches to help me quit. (I had no idea!) They ask that the pregnant patients slowly come off the nicotine to reduce the stress on the mom and baby instead of all at once.
I was told not to quit immediately I slowly tapered off over 2 weeks it's what my doc recommended. When I quit I was 10 weeks found out I was preggo at 7weeks. If you quit too quickly it will stress baby. Definitely quit but do it slowly otherwise you could risk a miscarriage. Again this is all my experience and what doc told me
I quit the day I found out I was pregnant at 5 weeks, 5 days. My daughter is healthy as can be.
never heard of that before. the risks of you continuing to smoking could be low birth weight baby though. good luck
when I brought it up someone told me to quit at 12-14 weeks not this early. I don't know it scares me. I just want what's best for my baby
I've been trying to quit also. but I'm in the third trimester. and I'm on bedrest for preterm labor. so I'm not sure if its safe for me to quit smoking either... I'm scared it'll put me into labor again.
I plan to do it that way
