its sad how some people are blind to mental issue... I get so damn irritated.. my son is 9 and the only people that know he's autistic is my husband and mom everyone else think they Dr's and try to tell me what to do!! like seriously? my degree is in mental health, so how you gonna tell me bout my child.. and wondering why your child failing in class and can't catch up.. saying oh they grow out of it! when bitch.. sorry lady's annoyed 😤
yeah he's in a regular setting class now, he get taking out of class for his resource... but they thinking bout putting him in a smaller class with less distraction because he don't have severe behavior to go to special ed class and they don't won't him to pick up they behavior. @lovebuggg2016 but that's good you familiar with mental issue and open to it
right and they judge the parents like we did something wrong! @sarahemccormick
Yeah, my cousin has Asperger's syndrome. I know a lot about autism because of him having it! Just ignore what others say! But because he has it, he can be put in a class where he will learn the same material as the kids his age just taught a different way! Or at least that is how it is here!
OMG I understand completely. My son was diagnosed with Bipolar 2 Disorder two years ago and he's 12 now. He has struggled with severe behavioral issues since he was 6. We have gone through a LOT and I mean that very literally. It has been a hellish ride, but thats my baby and people need to shut their mouths and mind their own business. He's on meds finally that work for him, but he still struggles sometimes. He will have to battle this disease for life.
yeah its different level spectrum of autism that effect a child @lovebuggg2016
My cousin has a form of autism. A lot of times they do grow out of it depending on the severity. Some kids don't though and others might take until there 23 too. Either way if the doctors are telling you he has autism, then people shouldn't dismiss it. That would make me super angry too.
That's what they had to do with my cousin. Although, he had severe adhd so they didn't even know he had Asperger's until they took care of that. So he's on meds for both but he is in 7th grade now and has made a lot of friends at his new school. I think it helps that he goes to school with our other cousin now! And yes definitely open to it! I have severe anxiety and depression myself and I hate when people tell me I'm over reacting and I'm fine.
