For me I feel like it wasn't "dangerous" to have my son at 29 weeks; it would have been more dangerous to keep him in based off how bad he and I were doing. We had a lot of issues, but once he was out everything was fine. I think it depends on the kid. I had already been in the hospital a week before I had to have a c section so I was given meds to help mature his lungs and reduce the risk of other issues which I think is why he's doing so well now, but not every baby born early, or even born at full term is that lucky. (Even my 40 weeker was small and needed oxygen at first). I don't think dangerous is the word.

up to 37 weeks is now considered pre mature. 37-39 is early term and after 39 is full 42+ is late term. So technically yes it is dangerous. You baby is NOT fully Developed yet the last 2-3 weeks are very very important

my baby was just born at 35 weeks and they just sent him to a bigger hospital with specialists. he keeps turning blue when he eats they thought it was just from him needing to learn how to eat and breath at the same time but it has been 5 days as no change so they flew him to the big hospital today. worse thing ever. but most babies born that early are just fine

Usually if a baby is born at 35 weeks they are really developed plus there is a good chance the baby will be fine

Your baby isn't fully developed so they'd be in the nicu baby wouldn't be full term until 39 weeks. 37 weeks is early term but basically the "safe zone"

Yes the risks are much higher since you are not full term

It's not dangerous because the baby is viable, but their lungs aren't as developed as full term babies. But they will be ok, just in the nicu for a bit.

@babyboy1202, yeah. 37 weeks is consider the "safe zone" anything before that is dangerous because the baby's lungs aren't developed enough.
