Okay that is exactly like my old house was and I actually painted the wall that my dining room shared with the living room chocolate brown with white trim and then done the rest of the walls very light tan with white trim.....then we added a strip of trim in the middle of the light colored walls and painted the strips we put in the middle of the walls chocolate brown to match....it looked fabulous!!!!!!! Wish I had pics.....the surrounding light colored walls keep the lighting leveled!

off white or a very light gray

Those colors blend well together and they aren't too dark. Dark colors will effect the lighting in your home. 😊

I believe like a relaxing off white for the living room so that it's alive but relaxing and a pale/dusky/ very light blue for the dining room. To set the mood for quality time. 😊
