Does your doctor check dilation every week once you get to that point of pregnancy?

Depends on your history i.e. Premature births, etc. I asked my doctor to start checking me at 34 weeks with my second daughter

i got checked twice. once because they asked if I wanted to just to see (at about 37-38w) and then again a couple days before my dd to see if there was progress (there wasn't. lol) but I'm sure you could ask.

My doctor doesn't at all unless you're having contractions at that moment lol.

Usually it's pointless to check before active labor because you can be dilated for weeks but not go into labor
