Ugh i hate the obsession over mixed babies. Especially in African American culture. Its like the less black you are the more desireable you are. My husband is biracial, fair skin and gray eyes. Im a nice brown skinned black woman 🙎🏾everytime someone goes "i hope your baby is light skin or has light eyes" it kills me.

I get that all the time, people are always asking me if I want my son to come out looking more black or white, what am I going to do if he doesn't look like me if he's to dark. it is so annoying.

@shortiebs Exactly. I've heard a dark skin girl say she'll never have a baby by a black man because mixed kids look better. Like girl get real and get out. I have a absolutely beautiful all black baby.

@mamaofangelbaby0610, I hadn't really looked at it that way. but in 2015 it's not really a compliment when those same people will completely overlook a totally gorgeous blond haired blue eyed baby OR a beautiful brown eyed chocolate baby. I guess I just don't look at skin color.

right and like I said I understand why it upset you but they could've said something completely rude and horrible about you have a little beautiful mixed baby. I think all babies are cute no matter what their skin color is I just love babies :) so you shouldn't listen to them if it upsets you just know there are people who would've said something that was racist or something just rude in general

I live in Georgia, I'm used to the rudeness. You're right again, tho. It's definitely something to look at from both sides.

i will always be on the moms side because I know that there are extremely rude people and people who just piss me off so I do understand. :) not trying to disagree with you or anything. but @sarahemccormick is right all babies are beautiful when they're black, white, asian, Chinese, any race it doesn't matter all babies are adorable. :)

@mamaofangelbaby0610, I fully agree! Your viewpoint gives me another perspective to consider, which is absolutely cool. I don't like to be agitated, and understanding people is the 1st step to that. =) @sarahemccormick is exactly right too--ALL babies are adorable.

@junesmommy15, & @shortiebs I don't know if I'd have the grace to withstand those kinds of comments without throwing a fit! People can be so ignorant.

I'm just saying they could've said something that was completely racist and thats not right either I do not like racist people I think they're ignorant to judge someone by their race or skin color.

THIS!!!!!! Why is it that mixed babies are put on a sort of pedestal (for lack of better word)?? Everyone's first thing out of their mouth is how pretty the baby will be and how nice their hair and skin color will be. I am not in an interracial relationship (not saying anything is wrong with it either) but I know for a fact that my "all black" lol baby will be just as beautiful. Thank you for saying this. 🙌❤

I think what @tayek, is trying to point out is people complimenting her baby on the lack of Africaness. Its a backhanded compliment. The thing is its not other races. Its majority black people. As a culture we are programmed to view "mulattos" as superior. So when people make these comments about your baby having the potential to have less african features, they think thats a good thing. It IS racist. People just dont notice racism sometimes unless its blatantly in your face @mamaofangelbaby0610

exactly and I think racists are ignorant everyone should be over racism by now its dumb to judge someone by their skin color. I do not understand why they would say anything just because her baby will be mixed but they could have said something much more racist about her baby being mixed. @shortiebs, nobody should be labeled as anything but human beings.

It baffles me that anyone would even make a comment about that. Some people just have no filter.
