How much weight is a breast fed baby supposed to weigh? At birth my daughter was 7 pounds 1 ounce.. I took her to her newborn appt and she was 1week and three days old, and she weighed 7 pounds 4 ounces. The doctor didn't seem concerned but now I'm wondering if she's not gaining enough.

All babies are different. It's normal to lose weigh after birth then gain it back which would reflect less of a weight gain from birth. All babies are different there isn't a "right" amount for them to weigh

Aslong as she is gaining then there is no worry! My daughter gained weight fast she was like 9-10 lbs less than a month after being born at 8 lb 7 oz

Most babies loss weight right after birth it's totally normal for them to loss it. As long as there seems to be some weight gain then they are fine!

My bf baby gained weight really slowly. At birth she was 7.3, at 1yr she was 19.6. She just barely averaged 1lb a month. And the first few months she didn't gain but a few oz each month. It just averaged that way. The important thing is that they are gaining, growing, happy and healthy :)
