Is there something you can give newborns for constipation? My daughters poop is normally runny and yesterday I noticed its like a paste now. Ever since then she seems to be trying to poop but can't and is fussy.

Yea id try gripe water. or gas drops if the gripe water doesn't work. what formula do you use? my daughter seems to do well with the Similac sensitive.
@mdomke22, okay thanks. She's a little over three weeks old so I wasn't sure if something is wrong because she seems like she's bothered by something
I'd say she is fine hun. if she's still pooping at least once a day at that age. once she gets older the pooping won't be as frequent. it might be getting pasty too cuz her digestive tract is changing and becoming not so much newborn poops
For the prune juice 1 oz juice and 1 oz water of changing formula or gripe water don't work
@reaganmommy2015, how many times are they supposed to poop because she only poops like once a day maybe twice. She is formula fed. I have gripe water so I'll see if that helps and if not I'll try the other way
Gripe water or prim juice with water or use the bicycle method move her legs like she is riding a bike (my newborn poops within 30 mins) when I do that. If your formula feeding it might be the formula causing it you can switch it to see if it would help
@mdomke22, I use the blue similac because that's all that wic gives us. I'm on a military base and I can't get any other formula unless her dr approves it
