ladies question. have any of yall been to mexico? what do you need to go to mexico? do you need a passport?

I don't think they'd let her through without a passport. She could get a passport card. They're cheaper and quicker to get. They're only valid for Canada and Mexico.

Yea they're really strict through Texas you have to have a passport they don't let you just go like that anymore IDs & all that could be foraged so easy

She can get the passport card & get it expedited so she'll get it faster

When my uncle passed away my cousins didn't have a valid passport so their mom applied for something so they could go. But he had passed already I know she could do that if she were to pass

If she has a passport she doesn't need a permit I don't understand why she's getting a permit lol

yeah she is gonna drive her car down there. and then i guess when she gets to the border shes gonna talk to them to get a permit or something so she can come back. or so she says lol idk what shes gonna do. @aek91

I went driving so I also had to buy a permit for my dads truck

Yea then she just needs to get her passport no need to get a permit to go I mean you have to buy one its for 6 months I believe maybe 3 I don't remember but then you also have to pay for a permit to drive I had to pay a total of like 300 for my son & myself

I'll ask my boyfriend what his mom did. She was just down there visiting her mom- she was sick too.

You need a passport they won't accept birth certificates anymore.. and it takes forever to get permission to cross if your going on a Friday or Saturday

well cause my boyfriends mom is in the hospital down in mexico and she wants to go down there cause her mom isnt doing good. but she doesnt wanna go and not be able to come back lol she doesnt have a passport. @bria.k

Depends. I live in California and can go to TJ for the weekend without a passport. It's not, like, recommended though lol, you're supposed to have one. And they asked us for passports. We just said we didn't know we needed them, they asked us what we did and why we went and they let us through. If you go past TJ, deep into Mexico, you need a passport and some sort of permit to be able to drive there.
