can I give my 2m old an oz of water to help him poop
Water is not safe given alone to a baby but you can give the baby one oz of prune juice and one oz of water to try and ease constipation just once a day is good my pediatrician said that is safe to do
Water isn't actually recommended until a year look up water intoxication. I'd talk to your pedi about something to help his tummy
call his pediatrician, he may need is formula switched if he isn't pooping. some have just a little to much iron in it that will clog them up. easy fix
Call his pediatrician or the office if you're worried about him being constipated or having trouble pooping. Don't give him water and don't dilute his formula. Water in a young baby can be harmful. They don't need water until they're about 6 months and on solids and even then it's a small amount.
I'm not breastfeeding he has pooped maybe 12 times in two months ... he cries when he pushes and farts .. he won't stop.
I know they say your not suppose to... Every doctor will, my family is Hispanic and they say to give them prune tea to help him poop, if your breastfeeding he can go up to 10 days without and dirty diapers because his body soaks it up is what my baby's dr told me
babies that young aren't supposed to have straight water yet... your milk, or formula has all the water he needs. by giving the baby straight water this young, you could possibly drown him from the inside... definately ask your doctor.
As well as you can switch his formula as well. And try moving his legs like his is riding a bike it helps my daughter she usually poops 20 min later
