The night before last my son slept a five hour stretch. Last night he slept 6 and a half hours and only woke because I woke him up to feed. I heard it's not good for newborns to be sleeping through the night. Although it wasn't all night like a 12 hour period is it ok for him to be sleeping this long. I know newborns have small tummys that constantly need filling. I don't mind waking to feed him I'm just wondering is it ok for an almost 7 week old.

I wouldn't wake your baby at night to eat. they Def won't starve themselves lol unless he's underweight. if you do keep waking them up it will only cause a habit and then you'll be doing that for a long time 😕 if your baby is up to his birth weight or over I wouldn't worry about it hunny! I never woke nylah up and she sleeps all night since about 3/4 months old.

I woke him up at 645. He slept since midnight. Before 2 nights ago he's waking up every 3 hours to eat and sometimes 2 during daytime. I will ask the pediatrician about waking him because I've read they should be be sleeping this long at an early age. I'm just wondering. Thank you. This isn't a habit I want to continue so we shall see if this sleeping even continues. I hope so.

His birth weight was 6'2 and he's 9 and a half pounds now. Maybe 10.

my daughter sleep 7 to 8 hours at night she's 7 weeks as well I don't wake her up she was born at 36 weeks weighed 5lbs 6oz and came out of hospital at 4lbs 15oz yesterday in took her to doctor and she weighs 9lbs 7oz :) doctor said she'll wake up if she's hungry as long as she's gaining weight she's fine ..she was suppose to gain 2 lbs in one month and she gained 3lbs in 3 weeks so I'll let her sleep..
