So I need someone else's opinion. We aren't having a baby shower because this is baby #5 and I'm honestly ok with that because in my family we only do showers for your first. I did make a registry but mostly to make a list of things we need because after two boys my husband and I are having a little girl. Well I've slowly been buying things each pay check so it's easier on us financially since I'm a SAHM. Well tonight my husband got frustrated with me telling me to leave something for other people to buy, but if we aren't having a baby shower I doubt anyone is even looking up our registry considering even when we did have a shower people bought whatever they wanted. Should I stop buying to see if people get us gifts? I just like to be prepared and I don't want to have to run out at the last minute or worse after she's born to have to get things.

everyone has been telling me the same thing to leave things for other people i am having a baby shower but i just dont want to be left last minute having to get things id rather have extra and have to return thats why im keeping all my receipts but i say go for it you cant really rely on other people for baby essentials or at least thats how i feel

@aaquino, that's exactly what I keep telling him but for some reason he thinks people will buy us what we need instead of just cute baby outfits. I just don't like relying on other people for stuff like this especially since even my MIL said that if we didn't have a shower people wouldn't buy us stuff but I would rather spend my money on our kids and new little one than throwing a party.

what you can do is still set a little money aside each check tgat way if you dont get what you need or if no one buys anything you dont have to steess since you set the money aside to buy it yourself

@waffles2016, that would be a good compromise. My husband is big into saving so I'm sure he would love that idea.

:-) so you both win and if you do get things you need you still have that money left over in case you need it or something comes up.. :-)
