Honest to God truth I would wait on someone else. No one should make you want to change who you are to suit their superficial ideas of what beauty is. You're gorgeous the way you are and if he can't see it then he isn't worth your time. the first step to love is loving yourself. And loving yourself simply means you won't change for someone else... just my two cents

I know someone who's husband likes straight hair and she and her girls have curly she was straightening it since they where too young to even get to like curly hair... It just becomes sad

Besides, I would want someone to like me for me, not my hair.

...in that case, I would find a way to convince myself that the person seems superficial and I wouldn't even bother...I would never change myself or my appearance for anyone.
