no. I would be upset too. because it's like she thinks the baby is going to live there when your baby is going to be with you.

I mean my mother in law hasn't bought anything for our baby and doesn't even ask about her... so in a way at least she cares a little. lol.

@babynorwick, okay I just didn't wanna seem like a crazy bitch if I bring it up with my boyfriend but at first I was okay with it but now it's just they buy something new every time they go out now for there house ! And awe I'm sorry that really sucks :(

@katier, I would say yes, it's you and your partners baby they really can decide to not buy anything if they wish.

@mrsalston, well that's why I haven't said anything yet I was okay with them buying the crib and stuff if they wanted but some other the stuff they are now buying they don't need because he's not living there it's just making me upset

My mil passed August 2nd my baby was born August 25th and although she probably wouldn't have bought anything for our son I just wish she was here to see what he looks like and to enjoy him @katier

@mrsalston, oh no I am so so sorry for your loss :(.

You should really make it clear to them that that is your baby, first of all. They seem to be under the impression that they're going to have A LOT of time with the baby. Are you planning on leaving your baby with them as a newborn and stuff? If you aren't, they don't need a crib, stroller, etc.

@aightgoddess, I don't plan on letting it spend nights over there till he's at least 6 months or older and for a night at a time that's if at that time I am ready to leave him alone over night but otherwise nope he will visit when we do so we will have a bag for him

I can understand your frustration though! I really hope you don't take it the wrong way, but you can't expect them to buy you things though? You are right to be upset that they're buying all these things but don't ask if you need anything though. That's inconsiderate of them to not ask and assume they'll have so much time with the baby that they'll need all that stuff. If your not planning on leaving the baby with them, it'll be such a waste.

I think is very kind of your MIL taking the time and expenses to get stuff for her house to room your baby. That means she's willing to watch him when you need them to, that alone is a big help. A lot of us don't have that luxury. I would try not to be upset, you're still weeks away and perhaps she's gonna get you something. I don't think other people are obliged to buy you the stuff you need for your baby. I think that's the parents responsibility.

@katier, definitely talk to your partner and his family then if they don't know your plans on that. I hope things work out, I get being excited but it's overkill to buy all those things when they won't be spending that much time with your baby to make it necessary. :x Maybe if they're understanding they'll pass off some of the things you guys need for your own use!

@aightgoddess, @ftmama I am happy she wants to be a part of his life I would never ask her for anything but it's just to the point where I think it's a lil over bored with what there buy otherwise I'm glade they wanna buy stuff for there house
