@dianne0825, I know I was tested twice once at 10 weeks which I didn't have it but then I tested again at 28 weeks and I had it at that time. I honestly this your doctor was just trying to get money out of you especially since your new doctor thinks you don't have it

I test high on the actual GD test but not on my numbers at home even when I don't follow my diet

Sounds like all sorts of miscommunication on your doctors part

well when they did the 1 hr test I didn't know it was going to happen at all until I got there and so I drank a glass of kool-aid and so obviously I failed that test but when they did the 3 hr test they said I failed and they put me in the hospital immediately for 24 hrs and started me on the meds, I did that for about a week then said fuck it cause I was getting sick really bad really fast and was falling into hypoglycemic range but the Dr never cared about that and so when I moved I explained it all to the new Dr she was confused as to why I was told I had it at all and why when I was getting so sick from the meds my old dr did nothing, she actually called his office from AL and tried to get a straight answer from him and he kept putting her on hold then hanging up so idk if any of this is normal or what anymore :/ @reaganmommy2015

My question is while you were testing yourself in the beginning when u found out was it in the normal range cause I know in the morning it had to be 90 or less and when I was told I had it I changed my diet for a week and it was to much food for my system to handle and I was also testing really high and they informed me that if it continued I would be put on insulin which they lowered my diet to a lower amount of calories but I was noticing that I was still getting very sick so I throw caution to the wind and said fuck it and stopped following it all together plus the damn supplies were expensive as hell. Plus I had my daughter at 37 weeks and she weighed 6 lb 13 oz as well as both of my parents have diabetes anyway so if it returns then it returns oh well. But I wouldn't worry about it and they are just be overly cautious in GD

oh OK well I was told only to poke my finger on days I had an appointment and that never made sense to me because how was my dr from TX suppose to know what my blood sugar readings were at home from what I was eating, and my dr here in AL didn't even know I had GD until I told her @2novbabies I'm just so confused as to why one was saying one thing and the new Dr doesn't think I was at all to begin with

It could have changed later in your pregnancy normally people who get tested early also get tested later, I definitely don't think they would make you take unnecessary meds just for money, that could be dangerous to your health. I just had to poke my finger 4x a day

ok so this may be long sorry in advance @2novbabies and @reaganmommy2015 ,

I was told I had GD at 18 weeks I'm 39 weeks today, I was put on meds to control it because the Dr said since I was only 18 weeks when they determined I had it that it was probably type 2 and not just GD, well I stopped taking the meds, moved from TX to AL and when I got my first appointment they refilled my meds well I only ever take the meds about an hr to 2 hrs before my appointments now because they drop my blood sugar low like 50-60 low and I have told the Dr's this, well I also haven't changed my eating habits and I drink sodas everyday just one but still and my son is estimated at weighing 7 lbs 10 oz for being 39 weeks which I was told is normal, so my question is do you think I really have GD or do you think my dr was trying to get more money from my insurance by saying I had more things wrong with me then I really do....?
