21 weeks pregnant! We have 3 dogs and 2 cats. The dogs are amazing with everything tiny... The cats I'm nervous about. My cats are almost overly social. I have been doing some reading and found out that cats cannot suck the air out of a babies lungs and suffocate them (a myth my mom keeps warning me about) BUT if the cat cuddles w the babies head it can make it hard for the baby to breathe. Either way I don't want the cats where our son will be. They step in a litterbox! It's gross!
What have you mommas done to help with this or keep a happy baby and kitty?

my cats totally ignore Sadie. and my cat Heineken is a big snuggler with me but after I had Sadie hell only come see me when she's napping away from me

@steph11, was he super social before Sadie? My cats aren't afraid of strangers and everyone is there to love them! Lol! They are fearless!

Put foil in the babies stuff apparently cats don't like it lol let them get used to the baby stuff but keep telling them bo

@2novbabies, I'll have to try it. Is it bad that I'm a veterinary assistant and still so freaked out about this? I know of a few ways to deter them but idk how well they work. I have a 6 month old kitten and she is just so playful and everywhere! Lol Love her but she makes me worry

My cats didn't mess with my daughter she was the one who started messing with them lol

with me he was. he always followed me around and slept in bed with me. he's good with strangers just not my bf they don't get along. Sadie is very interested in him she like when I let her pet him she's 4.5 months old. after you have her have someone bring a blanket, shirt, hat anything baby's worn for a bit for them to sniff it really helps!

We actually recommend keeping your cats around when you have a baby. It builds there tolerance and prevent allergies long term.

I have cats... I would suggest doing things like while you're petting them tug on the fur a little and get them use to it because it will happen. So kinda train them to be okay and make sure they don't do anything that might hurt your infant. Also if you have a nursery keep it a cat free room. And is they try to go it make sure they know it's a no no
