does anyone ever think when they are getting a ultrasound that it's going to hurt the baby? like…

im very ticklish all over my body so i had to try not to laugh everytime i got an ultrasound

Yup I use to feel like that, but believe it or not the baby is well cushioned and protected inside our wombs. They also tell you that to help you relax lol, I was the same way especially since it was my first baby.

Same it made me sore too!!

ultrasounds do affect the baby, it's more the soundwaves- the baby can hear them and it is not a pleasant experience for them. experts were asked about this and one of them described it like a helicopter taking off right by their head, another said a freight train going by their face, and the last one described it has a dog whistle- very painful. the soundwaves what they do is potentially can change the way their brain works or is circuited. mind that a lot of factors play into the degree in which an ultrasound sound can do this from the specs of the machine, the age of the machine to the experience of the technician. unfortunately there hasn't been any concrete studies on the long term effects an ultrasound has on a developing baby neither proving nor disproving what some people believe about them, but currently there are studies taking place on just that. all of these things are why most professionals advise only having a sonogram/ultrasound if necessary and in pregnancy recommend no more than 3
