They make you bring the car seat in the hospital, atleast my hospital did. This car seat doesn't have a handle to carry the baby in so I'm sure they won't let you.

my hospitals rule is you have to have a infant car seat to at least carry the baby out in

My hospital wheels you out to the car in a wheelchair with your baby and makes sure you put him/her in it and that's it! I plan on purchasing the same car seat. I prefer convertible ones as opposed to the ones you carry since they last so much longer. Call your hospital and ask what their policy is.

I recently went to a car seat class and was told that a convertible car seats fit newborns weighing 5 pounds or more, so they can not deny you using the seat. I too have a convertible and also bought my 2 year old home in one in 2013.
