My son can't hold a pacifier and it's frustrating — why is that?

my son had the same prob. the hospital gave him a soothie pacie and he liked it but after a few seconds it would pop out and you'd have to keep putting it back. I tried the regular shaped ones thinking they'd be easier for him to hold in his mouth but he wouldnt take em. then I tried the MAM pacies and he loves them and has no prob holding em.

to me that's normal for little babies my sons 2 months and still will need me to hold it sometimes

Something I learned is put the pacifier in his mouth and when he starts sucking on it move it a little with your finger like you're trying to knock it out. sounds weird I know but it will train his muscles to keep it in better

My baby girl only takes soothies maybe your little one will only take to one certain kind lol

@simpsonv54, I have mam pacies and those don't work either.

@mommytolucia, yah. I guess I just need to buy some different kinds and try them. So far have tried mam, soothies, and gum drop or gummies?
