Why Doesn't My Job Insurance Cover a Free Breast Pump?
I have really good insurance through my job and Im disappointed because they do not give you free BREAST pump. Should have had some government assisted insurance and then I would have qualified for everything free. Free housing, WIC, free food, free insurance (I don't pay copay but still) etc etc. I pay a lot of taxes I should qualify for something. Sigh.

definitely agree. before marrying my husband I was under my mom's insurance she made little so we had medical and I had wic. with my husband because of his good pay and what not I can't get medical or none of that anymore as if formula is cheap and as if we wouldn't need some type of assistants (which we do) but people with little to none get a tone of help. (I know because of my mom) and the ones paying tones of taxes and making decent money can't get nothing of help it sucks.

@mylittlejulyprincess, I agree with you. Why do we have to feel the brunt of it cause we have careers. I can afford it don't get me wrong but help is always appreciated. Wish I was approved for WIC that's a big help. Didn't apply cause I know I'm over the income. Smh. Oh well. We gotta do what we gotta do have a great weekend my dear.

I don't have government assisted insurance however they do cover the free breast pump. The only draw back is when I wasn't pregnant any dr visit I had a $15-$20 copay if they weren't in the network which is not overly bad . Now that I'm pregnant I don't have to pay copay after my first visit and pregnancy was confirmed .

lol you don't get free housing if you have government insurance. I do have medicaid "government insurance" and my breast pump isn't covered by my plan. not even with a prescription. I just went to the dentist and I have to pay $1020 to get work done. I guess government insurance isn't everything everybody expect it to be. I'm in the same boat as y'all or worse.

Oh my! I thought insurance was to cover everyone's breast pump like they do birth control. I need to read up on the policies.

I so hear you! mine did cover a pump but after having her I'm drowning in medical bills I wish it would have covered the birth I'd gladly buy a pump

@steph11, you're right when you put it like that. Cause I don't have to pay anything medical related. So I shouldn't be so whiney. And I'm sure a BREAST pump is couple hundred dollars. Well the one I want.

oh no I didn't mean to make it sound like you sounded like that! if that makes sense. I have over 5 grand in bills from having her. which I thought my insurance would have covered more being I thought I had amazing insurance! I would have been so mad they didn't cover a pump. have you tried getting you're Dr to write a prescription for one and getting insurance to pay for it that way? that's how one of my friends did it. but the people on the phone never told her it'd cover it that way

@steph11, oh no I know you didn't mean it that way. But that's a great idea to ask my dr for a prescription. Going for my check up next week would definitely ask. Thanks bunches
