❌ I'm probably poking the bear here and I'm probably going to get blocked by a few but oh well. 🚫 It irks me how some women think they need the world handed to them just because they're pregnant, especially in the first and second trimesters, when they don't have any complications.... Yes, the little special treatments are nice and surprising and should be enjoyed! I'm not going to lie, I love when people offer to take my groceries out for me, or tell me they'll move this or that or hubby cleans the house. But I don't EXPECT people to not want me to lift a finger. Am I pregnant? Yes. Am I in pain? Oh God Yes. But am I helpless? No.

That's how my sister is. she's only 7 weeks and acting like she's 37. She quit her job and expects everyone to wait on her hand and foot. She's always saying how shes so uncomfortable and thinks she needs to lay in bed and act like shes dying. she told me I had it easy because my son was a summer baby and she will be pregnant during the winter when it's cold. uh no lol I'd much rather be pregnant in the winter

I'm only 17 weeks now with my 2cd, I don't even feel like I should get any special treatment, let alone some women that feel entitled for everything when they literally just found our they were pregnant.

I'll be honest, when people were holding doors open for me, always asking me about my pregnancy, treating me like I was disabled it was seriously annoying. I had my moments where I loved it and wanted someone to do things for me, but most of the time I hated that everyone acted like I was crippled and missing limbs. I needed more help with a newborn going into public places, such as holding the door open, not using the expectant mothers parking when you're only 6 weeks along so women who are 30+ weeks along don't have to waddle from the longest away parking spot or have to break their arm carrying the heavy ass carseat, than I did while I was pregnant. I get pregnancy is uncomfortable, I get it hurts, but I HATE when women act like they can't do anything (when they are perfectly fine in their pregnancy/no ordered bedrest, etc)

BUT! I'd also like to counter with the fact some people (especially men) act as if carrying a child is "no big deal" and put pregnant women down for being tired and ornery sometimes. It's hard! It's really hard and people need to understand that but women don't need to treat it (like @mamabear01 said) like its a disability. Don't tell us we don't do anything, but don't act like you CANT do anything.

I Agree I did EVERYTHING I could on my own till baby was here even with how big and swollen I was. often times people like my mil and hubby offered to do things of course I didn't deny but I didn't lay around and expect things that needed to be done would be.

@kristac716, really? I have a friend who just found out she's expecting and she's like 6 weeks and she's expecting her boyfriend and family and co workers to feed her, wait on her hand and foot, and do whatever she wants because she's pregnant. I straight up told her, I hate to see her when she gets round ligament pain and boob growth 🙌🙌

I mean i get joking stuff like "blame it on the baby haha lol" every once in a while but some people take it too far. 👎 @valerie_jean @caseclosed2015

agree. saw a post earlier where the girl straight up said she was expecting people in public to be so nice to her and help her all the time now that she's pregnant. sheesh
