Not sure if you were talking about me, because on my comment. But it's not that I'm ungrateful. But where I leave I don't get "lots of options" and most of the time everything you can get on WIC is never stocked. So for me, I don't care for the actual food, it does help with formula and that I'm thankful for. Because it's expensive. 😊 @floridamommy1024

Wic gives you 10 cans of formula and you food until your baby is around 6-7 months then you don't get things anymore and your baby gets baby food , cereal , 7 cans of formula . I thank God for wic because just 6 cans of formula is $100

I don't use my full wic amount every month, partly cuz I'm overseas so milk is only good for like a week or two after it hits the store (and we don't have gallons, only half gallons). but wic saves me an average of 40 to 60 bucks a month depending on what I get off the checks

no way - the amount you get each month is unknown, but it covers anywhere from $100-130 worth of stuff per month in my case.

I get four gallons of milk, a half gallon of milk, a pound of cheese, a loaf of bread, $10 worth of fruits and vegs, juice, three boxes of cereal PLUS WIC honors BOGO deals if you find them on the cereals, eggs, peanut butter, beans, and yogurt. I feel like Im forgetting something..but yeah, its a ton of stuff and its well worth it. After the baby, if you breastfeed, you can get items like tuna and other things, plus you continue to get food for yourself for a year and its more than when you were pregnant. It also covers formula which is crazy expensive if you choose to bottle feed, and thet give you a breast pump if you are breast feeding plus offer lactation support and more.

@sarahemccormick, i read that its only $10 checks ? i dont feel like going through a Hassel of sitting and applying and printing checks and appointments for $10

And about the formula thing, if you breast feeding you actually get MORE food if you don't want to receive formula. And it'll last for a year for food for you then switch t just baby . But if you want formula it'll cover food for you for 6 months and formula. Then just baby after six months. I don't think they should have to give you money. It's food that if people need wic they should be greatful to get the food. They give you a lot of options about different brands and kinds of food you can have.

Yes honestly it's worth it for the baby stuff I didn't care much for the milk and eggs it helped a lot with the formula because one can is like 30$ and now it's even better because it covers jar food for the baby . So I think it's totally worth it.

yes and no, they don't give you money, well here they don't, they give you a certain list of things to buy which all I care for it for is the formula and baby food, the actual food for WIC is not my favorite besides maybe the milk and eggs. You get food while you're pregnant and then until the baby is 6 months then you just get formula and baby food.

Yes completely worth it. They give you a list to go off of. You get a certain amount of items a month. I get 3 gallons of milk, two boxes of cereal, 1 half gallon of milk, one quart, cheese, eggs, juice, veg and fruit, peanut butter and beans, ect. You can get it until the child is 5.
