I know I posted about this earlier, but, my acne is seriously out of control and its bothering me bad. I don't really know how to deal with it because I have never had acne like this before. I would only get one, maybe two, zits around my time of the month since I was 13. Never have I ever had a fully broken out face, cheeks, forehead, and chin all at once. It itches, it burns, and its really irritating. I am using my Clarisonic and Hydro cleanser, but im afraid to use my Clarisonic Acne care cleanser or even Neutrogena acne control face wash, both of which I have on hand, because I know salicylic acid can be harmful in pregnancy. Does anyone have any advice on dealing with the pregnancy acne? I cleanse my face twice per day, I haven't been wearing any makeup except for eyeliner and some bronzer just tonight, and I clean my makeup brushes often. Help!

I make a mask of egg whites and lime juice. I'm catching hell with it. I've never broken out so much, I don't even want to leave the house lol (A little dramatic much?)

I had bad acne in the beginning of this pregnancy. I scrubbed my face with soap and a rag and kept my face clean all the time. It kept it better and then it just went away

I use sensitive face washed and cleansers . The other stuff could actually be irritating your skin . I had less breakouts once I switched to the sensitive stuff

I completely understand girl, I am right there with you! I can't believe I hadn't thought to make a mask. For the past three years, up until about a month ago, I was a beauty writer and blogger for three major cosmetic and skin care companies, and I learned a lot along the way. Ive also got an entire cabinet full of super luxury face creams, masks, etc that I can't use because I don't know if using diamonds and gold on your skin is safe during pregnancy (yes, its in the products) but Im thinking no. What's a girl to do? 😕 I will probably make a mask in the morning. Thanks for the tip! xo

Don't know if you're using the clarisonic both of the times a day that you're washing your face, but it isn't recommended to even use it 1/daily. I use mine maybe 2 or 3 times a week. If you use it too much it can cause skin irritation. (Itchy, painful.) I use an all natural tea tree wash from Ulta and I've had clear skin my entire pregnancy. Better than before I was pregnant.

@ilovebabyjosiah, yes, thats what I'm using. Its a mositu Ryu zing sensitive skin facial cleanser that won't dry out the skin and is fragrance free. I've also been using Simple Micellar Water for makeup removal when I do wear it because its for sensitive skin, and I've been staying away from moisturizer because Im breaking out so bad.

@ashleycoronel, Thanks for the advice, hun. I have always used my Clarisonic twice a day, I have the sensitive brush head and so its gentle on the skin and it's always kept my skin in beautiful condition. Now, though, for the past couple weeks this acne is getting out of control. What's the name of the tea tree wash you're using? I am a firm believer in tea tree oil so I'd love to give it a try!

They sell each item individually, but it's a really good deal to get the kit like this and you get a bunch of different products with it. And honestly the kit lasts me a good 6 months before I have to buy a new one.

Have you tried coconut oil? My friend works at a medical spa and she suggested that to me, because my breakouts sound a lot like yours. I wasn't sure about it but I gave it a shot and it worked wonders. Just put a tiny bit on the spots you're breaking out in before bed. It started clearing up in a couple days

Try using a cleanser with benzoyl peroxide. It's safe during pregnancy and the only thing that helps me with acne.

Remember too that what you use should be for your skin type. When I started getting pregnancy acne it's because my face totally changed. I went from having normal/dry skin to oily/combination skin. Once I changed my products to suit my new skin type my acne started to clear up.
